Much like in 2014, we were blessed to visit friends and family across the country and get outside quite a bit in 2015. At the beginning of March, we enjoyed touring southern Utah with Shaunda's brother, Ryan.

For Christmas and to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary, we spent a week in Tulum, Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula. Our primary activity was scuba diving in the cenotes, which are freshwater sinkholes. We did 8 dives in 7 cenotes with a guide who was cave certified.

Diving in the cenotes was like exploring the opening of a cave, except we were flying instead of walking through mud and scrambling over boulders. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found the cenotes to be beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. Below is a video David filmed of our dives.
We also visited the Mayan Ruins at Coba. Here's a time lapse of all the tourists climbing a pyramid. If you look closely, you might even see us.

David is serving as the assistant director of Open Legal Services, a nonprofit law firm that provides affordable legal services to lower and middle income people in Utah. OLS continues to grow and gain recognition from both the local and national legal communities. David is also working on a medical device startup that came out of a program from his time as an MBA student at the University of Utah. His team is conducting a clinical study to determine if their algorithm for analyzing EKGs can predict who will develop atrial fibrillation after a major surgery. Shaunda continues to pay the bills through her work at a small civil litigation firm. She is currently preparing for a three-week trial in May.
Please stay in touch. Our basement apartment is available for you to stay in when you visit us. We wish you all the best in 2016!
