Reflections on 2018 Much like in 2017, we continued the journey of learning how to be parents. Caleb is excited that he has a baby sister coming this February! Our local group of friends is growing, too! In April, we visited Shaunda's friends and family in Georgia Caleb's Grandpa Lyle fixes old pinball machines Several of David's family visited us and played with Caleb while Shaunda felt nauseous from pregnancy The cutest cousins Silly! For some reason, we chose July to visit Shaunda's grandfather who lives near Death Valley in Nevada Boom! That's an actual dynamite blasting machine plunger. Grandma Caleb's first camping trip In October, we explored the desert around Moab with friends and family David spent the first half of 2018 overseeing significant renovations on the house we bought last December. Here are some before, during, and after pictures. Kitchen: Those countertops really were Pepto Bismol pink, and the carpet in the dining area looked original (shudder). We moved the right wall out to make room for the island. Master Bedroom: We added a laundry closet (middle of image) so we could do laundry as close as possible to where it's produced and consumed. Living Room: Removing the chimney and putting in a gas fireplace that vents out the back was the key to rearranging the master bathroom above.
